Our Adult Day Program is a CARF accredited program designed for individuals who have completed their formal education or at least 21 years of age. The program's primary focus is to provide person-centered activities to increase and/or maintain daily living skills and to adapt and develop skills relating to "everyday" life. The program's hours are Monday - Friday from 7:30 am - 5:00 pm.
Residential Habilitation
Our Residential Habilitation services provide up to a full day (24 hours) of services and/or support designed to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the participant and assist in the acquisition, improvement, and retention of skills necessary to support the individuals to live successfully in their own homes. Residential Habilitation is only available for individuals receiving the CIH Medicaid Waiver.
Respite Care Program
Available both as a private pay or Medicaid Waiver service, our Respite Care Program is provided to participants unable to care for themselves that are furnished on a short-term basis in order to provide temporary relief for the primary caregiver. Arrangements for Respite Care Services must be made in advance and is dependent upon staffing availability.
PAC Services
PAC services provide assistance for participants to remain and live successfully in their own homes, function, and participate in their communities. PAC services support and enable activities of daily living, self-care, and mobility with hands-on assistance, prompting, reminders, supervision and monitoring needed to promote the health and safety of our friends. PAC Services are only available for Medicaid Waiver Recipients.
Summer Day Camp
Our Summer Day Camp is distinguished as the Wabash Valley's only summer camp designed for individuals with disabilities. The 8-week program presents friends with routine-oriented programing while embracing the fun of summer camp! The Summer Day camp is offered during the summer months on Monday - Friday from 7:30 am - 5:00 pm. The summer months follow the Vigo County School Corporation's summer break schedule.
DHI Individual and Group: Community Based Habilitation
DHI Individual and Group provides services outside of our friend’s home that support learning and assistance in self-care, sensory/motor development, socialization, daily living skills, communication, community living and social skills. These community based activities are intended to build relationships and natural supports. This service is only available for Medicaid Waiver recipients.
Wellness Coordination
Wellness Coordination provides the development, maintenance, and routine monitoring of our friend’s Wellness Coordination plan and the medical services required to manage their healthcare needs. The wellness plan is overseen by a registered nurse and, in come instances, can be administered by an LPN with RN supervision. Wellness Coordination is a Medicaid Waiver program.
Music Therapy
Happiness Bag partners with Rhythm Gardens Music to offer a space on-site for music therapy. Music therapy is an established health profession in which music is used within a therapeutic relationship to address physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of individuals.
